The Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications has blocked websites violating the confidentiality of correspondence.
“On the basis of the decision of the Town Court of Ishim of Tyumen Oblast, the URLs of the websites containing information on the provision of services providing access to the detailed correspondence of subscribers and users of instant messengers were included into the unified register of prohibited information” – the message stated.
The decision was made on the basis of Article 23 of the Constitution of Russia and several articles of the Federal Law and the Criminal Code. Russian Internet companies and mobile operators are charged with huge fines for the refusal to disclose the correspondence of users.
“Notifications concerning the restriction of the access to information recognized as prohibited by the court resolution have been sent to hosting providers” – the Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications noted.
